Celebrating 100k streams on Artists, Dreamers + a new merch drop...
New caps just in!

This week the first track of my EP "Artists, Dreamers" hit 100k streams.

If you've ever spoken to a music-y person you'll know how distancing yourself from the metrics is at times very important.

But I wanted to take a minute to say thank you for listening to this song and giving it your time.

It was one of the quickest songs I've written, coming out like a freight train and then over in a second.

I played it at my local open mic the next day because it already felt like part of me.

It felt so close and accurate to my experiences that there was never any second guessing it.

The lyrics "she sings in pubs on Wednesdays" were added because my local open mic was on a Wednesday and I sang there every week at the time.

When I worked on it during the recording process it felt like it lit up and came to life.

I still remember the feeling when we found the right synth for it, it became a song that was brighter and lighter than I expected.

It was never a single, I wanted it to be the first thing you heard when you put on the EP instead.

Opening up the project for the listener and summing up the themes.

And then when it came out it took flight a little bit on TikTok - hitting 2 million views on the platform (mind-blowing really thinking about it now!)

In celebration I've made little Artist Dreamer caps, they're a "dad" cap design and they're embroidered by a local business here in Cornwall.

If you'd like one you can find one here

And don't forget I have a London show in just over a month – if you'd like to come along you can find tickets here

Excited to sing this song with you if you're coming along.

Thank you!! Essy x
