My EP Comes Out Today ♥️

Listen to "Still Upset About It Actually" now...

I'm sitting writing this, the night before my debut EP comes out.
It's been storming all day (it even snowed) and I'm listening to one of my new songs being played on BBC Introducing, which in itself is so wild to me.

When I started making this EP, I just wanted somewhere that I could point people to. I was playing my songs in pubs and sharing them on TikTok and when people would say "how can I listen to your music?" I had nowhere to send them.

So I set out to record 5 songs.
I thought "if 200 people listen to it then I'll see that as a huge success"

Flash forward – my songs have been streamed over 12,000 times, I've been played on the radio over 20 times and I've even sung Shakira live on BBC Introducing :')

I just couldn't have imagined it.

BUT TO THE POINT.
Today my debut EP comes out. It's called "Still Upset About It Actually".
If you've been listening along already, you'll have heard 3 songs from it.
But now you have two extras "Artists Dreamers" and "(Don't Go Home) for Christmas"

I think the theme that draws the EP together is "loss" – hidden under the folky harmonies and marching drums, it's about growing up, losing friends, losing innocence, losing niavity and finally finding yourself and your voice.

I'm so excited for you to hear it.

I have a few thank you's to say, so bare with me for a minute while I gush.

This project couldn't have been created without my community, in particular my friend Jemima Coulter who produced it and helped me find my sound.

You can hear their artistry in every instrument, in some of the hidden harmonies that I never could have thought of myself, in the synths and in the trumpet solo on the Christmas track which is perhaps my favourite moment on the EP.

And my friend Theodora Van Duin, who messaged me randomly on TikTok 6 months ago asking to do my album artwork.
I don't think I ever expected that someone who messaged me on TikTok would become a friend for life.
I'll be forever grateful that she turned my chaotic ideas into album covers.

And a last thank you is to my friends, who received WhatsApp voicenotes of early tracks, who turned up to gigs in pubs week in week out, who told me I was good at writing and who now stream and share my songs every time they come out.
I love you.

It's all yours now.

If you want something fun to listen out for, see if you can hear the moment in "Artists Dreamers" where Jemima does a small amount of harmony for me because I genuinely couldn't do the harmony line.

And lastly, once you've listened, please drop me a message and tell me your favourite song and why. I'd love to know.

Stay subscribed because next week I have some very exciting news for you (begins with "m" and ends with "erch")

You can listen to the full EP now.
Here.

Love you all.
