I'm just hopping into your inbox today to say that I have a new song coming for you ♥️

On May 8th, the first single from my new EP "Gossip from a Coastal Town" will be coming out.

It's called "Weddings and Funerals" and it's a fun, gossipy song about using humour as a coping mechanism when someone hurt my feelings.

This new EP is fully inspired by the art of Gossip and it's full of half truths, exagerated dynamics and overheard tales from my own life, from gossip from my own life, stories my friends have given me to write about and from things I've read on scraps of paper and reddit threads.

This particular piece of gossip that inspired this song goes like this:

"After a long period of no contact, I finally felt like I was coming back to myself.
And then just like that, they reached out, but not to apologise or acknowledge the rift between us, they wanted to invite me to their wedding, because they thought people would ask questions if I wasn't there. I felt like they wanted to wheel me out for special occasions, but not make the effort to emotionally connect with me as a friend"

Inspired by this piece of gossip, I wrote "Weddings and Funerals"
